Softball Recap: Uxbridge Spartans vs. Advanced Math & Science Academy Eagles

Uxbridge extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-6. They lost 12-2 to the Advanced Math & Science Academy Eagles. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Lola Grube was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

As for Advanced Math & Science Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average this season.

On Advanced Math & Science Academy's side, Ava McLeod made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. McLeod has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Advanced Math & Science Academy got a massive performance out of Brooke Laudate, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Laudate has posted since back in June of 2025. Makayla Laudate also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Uxbridge will host Leominster at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Advanced Math & Science Academy, they will challenge Lunenburg at 2:00 p.m. on the 24th.
