Basketball Recap: Campbell County Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with East

On Saturday, Campbell County faced East in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Campbell County Camels lost 60-40 to the East Thunderbirds. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Camels have suffered against the Thunderbirds since February 11, 2022.

Despite the defeat, Campbell County had strong showings from Kaylie Neary, who posted 17 points and five steals, and Lauren Kuhbacher, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. The contest was Neary's fourth in a row with at least 15 points.

Campbell County's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for East, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-2.
