Monterey won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They took a blow against the Soquel Knights, falling 33-6. The Dores haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Soquel was led to victory by Sam Whelan and Tyreis Lundy. Whelan threw for 103 yards and three touchdowns, while Lundy rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Whelan got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 60 yards.
