Football Game Preview: Morgan County Bulldogs vs. Westside Seminoles + How To Watch

For the first time this season, Morgan County will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Westside Seminoles at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Morgan County has five straight victories, Westside has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Two weeks ago, Morgan County made easy work of Cedar Shoals and carried off a 46-20 win. Fans of the Bulldogs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Morgan County had a senior duo take command as Christian Monfort gained 119 total yards and five touchdowns and Davis Strickland threw for 226 yards and three TDs on only 17 passes. Monfort is also crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least three every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Westside came up short against Lamar County on Friday and fell 27-14.

Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Morgan County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Morgan County has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 220.6 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Westside, though, as they've been averaging only 75.4 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Morgan County came out on top in a nail-biter against Westside when the teams last played back in September of 2024, sneaking past 35-32. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Seminoles' Kadiphius Iverson, who rushed for 314 yards and four scores while picking up 11.2 yards per carry. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Bulldogs to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
