Football Recap: Trinity Prep Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Trinity Prep had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 27-14 victory over the Seven Rivers Christian Warriors on Friday. For the Saints, this counts as revenge for the 22-14 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Leading Trinity Prep to victory were James Ellzey and Josh Shaw. Ellzey picked up 154 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while Shaw rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Those 154 receiving yards gave Ellzey a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Seven Rivers Christian still got an impressive performance from Bradley Franklin, who rushed for 135 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Franklin also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles and defending one pass.

Trinity Prep has already played their next match, a 27-9 defeat against Central Florida Christian Academy on the 22nd. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-23 victory against Geneva on the 23rd.
