Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Manti). Their defense stepped up to hand the Emery Spartans an 8-0 shutout on Friday. Taylor Dettinger was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

The victory got Manti back to even at 2-2. As for Emery, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manti will welcome Canyon View at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Emery, they will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against North Sanpete at 4:00 p.m.
