Baseball Recap: New Braunfels Christian Academy Gets the Win

New Braunfels Christian Academy took a 19-run loss the last time they faced off against Poth, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The New Braunfels Christian Academy Wildcats narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Poth Pirates 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since March 1, 2024.

David Shoup made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because New Braunfels Christian Academy is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 2-3 otherwise. Shoup was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Shoup wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jack Kahlig, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Kahlig also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

New Braunfels Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Poth, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 10-3 record.

Coming up, New Braunfels Christian Academy will face off against John Paul II at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Poth, they are taking a road trip to take on Dilley at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Poth is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
