Gibbs is 8-2 against Halls since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. Gibbs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Halls' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Gibbs is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Farragut just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Admirals by a score of 4-3.

Meanwhile, Halls faced Alcoa in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Red Devils took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tornadoes. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Tornadoes: they've now lost five in a row.

Adrie Johnston made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Gibbs' loss dropped their record down to 26-13-2. As for Halls, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.

Gibbs was able to grind out a solid victory over Halls when the teams last played back in March, winning 13-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
