Basketball Recap: Tri-Valley Takes a Loss

Tri-Valley was the 54-52 winner over Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tri-Valley Vikings fell to the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons 49-43. The contest marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Tri-Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Tri-Valley and Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Tri-Valley will challenge Flanagan/Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday up 290 places (132 vs. 422). Tri-Valley is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Similarly, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (ranked 128th) will meet Ridgeview (ranked 518th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
