Preview: Excel Panthers vs. Thomasville Tigers
Excel is 2-8 against Thomasville since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Excel Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Thomasville Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, Excel made easy work of Blacksher and carried off an 8-2 win. The victory was just what Excel needed coming off of a 16-0 defeat in their prior contest.
Zaylon McMillan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. McMillan has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. McMillan was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Will Thomas was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Devin Odoms was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
