Volleyball Recap: Hozho Academy Takes a Loss

Hozho Academy lost against Reserve back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wolves took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountaineers. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Hozho Academy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Reserve work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 18-25, 25-15, 25-19.

Raine Miller paced Hozho Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Miller got some help from Lucia Edaakie and her 14 assists. Edaakie was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Hozho Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Reserve, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Hozho Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Navajo Pine on the 21st. As for Reserve, they will be playing at home against Magdalena at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
