Basketball Recap: Virginia City Beats Tonopah for Their Second Straight Win

If Tonopah wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Virginia City, they should've done a better job of containing Haylee Walters. The Virginia City Muckers took down the Tonopah Muckers 33-18 on Saturday thanks in part to Walters, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Her morning made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Nanna Lopez, who posted two points and six steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Virginia City and bumps their season record up to 7-4. As for Tonopah, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Virginia City will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against McDermitt at 1:00 p.m. McDermitt will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Virginia City surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tonopah, they will head out to challenge Beatty at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
