Basketball Recap: Maclay Comes Up Short at Home Against Thomas County Central

Maclay unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 72-51 to the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets on Monday. The Marauders were down 56-35 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Maclay lost, don't look at Christopher Foos. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-16 to rack up 15 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Colson Miller, who posted nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Thomas County Central has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Maclay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-45 defeat against Aucilla Christian on the 18th. As for Thomas County Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 88-76 victory against Bainbridge on the 18th.
