Bishop Snyder heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Thursday. They were beaten by San Jose Prep 73-43. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.

Despite their loss, Bishop Snyder saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Gaines, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 15 points and eight rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Gaines is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Saige Grace, who posted five points along with five assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Trinity Catholic hadn't done well against P.K. Yonge recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Trinity Catholic breezed by P.K. Yonge to the tune of 65-13. The Celtics have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.
Trinity Catholic's win came from a few key players Bishop Snyder will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Liliana Rosario, who went 5 for 8 en route to 12 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in assists. Jayhanna Owusu was another key player, going 7 of 9 to rack up 15 points.
Trinity Catholic was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Trinity Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.
