Softball Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

Riverside managed to slip by Covington the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pirates came up short against the Buccaneers on Thursday, falling 14-3. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Riverside saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoey Ransbottom, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Riverside's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-5. As for Covington, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Riverside is set to square off against their familiar foe Lehman Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Covington will face off against rival Milton-Union at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
