Recap: Jefferson County North Chargers vs. Valley Falls Dragons

After a string of six wins, the Jefferson County North Chargers's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 58-37 walloping at the hands of Valley Falls. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Jefferson County North has suffered yet this season.

Valley Falls got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zac Evans out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Evans has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Kearney, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.

Jefferson County North's loss dropped their record down to 6-3-1. As for Valley Falls, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Jefferson County North will be playing in front of their home fans against Atchison County on Monday. Atchison County comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Valley Falls will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oskaloosa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
