Alvord and Era are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. Alvord will head out on the road to square off against Era at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Alvord's last matchup with Nocona could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. Alvord lost 12-6 to Nocona. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Makayla Gresham was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and seven unearned) runs off 12 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
