Football Game Preview: Cuthbertson Cavaliers vs. Charlotte Catholic Cougars + Official Tickets

Cuthbertson is 0-4 against Charlotte Catholic since October of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Cavaliers will host the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Cuthbertson is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Weddington last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Cavaliers were dealt a 34-7 defeat at the hands of the Warriors. The Cavaliers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Cuthbertson might have lost, but man, Mason Iovino was a machine: he rushed for 188 yards.

Even if they lost, Cuthbertson's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Ajani Barrow, Lucas Coutinho, and Brady Williamson, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Catholic was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 7-3 to Marvin Ridge.

Charlotte Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Cuthbertson, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Cuthbertson couldn't quite get it done against Charlotte Catholic when the teams last played back in April of 2021 as they fell 26-19. Thankfully for the Cavaliers, Akil Williams (who rushed for 150 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
