Softball Recap: Lincoln Wins Going Away Against Buckhannon-Upshur

Lincoln got themselves on the board against Buckhannon-Upshur on Tuesday, but Buckhannon-Upshur never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Buccaneers. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by ten runs or more this season.

Adriana Elder made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Elder was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Aspen Dyer was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kerstyn Leggett, who earned one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Lincoln has already played their next contest (against Fairmont Senior), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Buckhannon-Upshur also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Liberty.
