Basketball Recap: Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] vs. Axtell Wildcats
Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] can finally bid farewell to their 13-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They snuck past Axtell with a 30-26 win. The victory was just what Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] needed coming off of a 47-22 defeat in their prior game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malia Viter, who scored six points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Wall, who scored four points along with two steals.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madison Wells, who scored four points along with three steals. Cadie Nickel was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood]'s win bumped their record up to 2-18. As for Axtell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.
Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] will be playing at home against the Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elm Creek is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for Axtell, they will square off against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Lawrence-Nelson is ranked 254th, while the Wildcats are ranked 265th).
