Basketball Recap: King & Queen Central Drops Highest Score of Season Against Mathews

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask King & Queen Central). They walked away with a 48-41 victory over the Mathews Blue Devils on Tuesday. The Royal Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Devils, too.

King & Queen Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ky'Juana Hence led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Hence a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Kimora Hill, who went 6 of 11 en route to 17 points.

King & Queen Central's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-7. As for Mathews, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

King & Queen Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-37 loss against West Point on the 16th. Mathews has also already played their next game, a 31-30 defeat against Charles City on the 16th.
