Venture Academy is 0-10 against Millennium since March of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Mustangs will take on the Falcons at 3:00 p.m. Venture Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13 runs per game this season.
Venture Academy will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs last Monday, then bounced right back against Aspire Langston Hughes Academy on Friday. The Mustangs blew past the Titans 16-4. Considering the Mustangs have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Savanah Espinoza was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Venture Academy got a massive performance out of Tiffany Bruss, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Natalie Padilla was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Venture Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Millennium put another one in the bag last Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Ben Holt College Prep Academy get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. The five-run effort marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Not much got past Hayden Faaborg, who gave up just two hits to keep Ben Holt College Prep Academy off the board.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gianna Negrete, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
Venture Academy pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Millennium, their record now sits at 6-0.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Venture Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .539. However, it's not like Millennium struggles in that department as they've averaged .573. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Venture Academy might still be hurting after the 15-4 defeat they got from Millennium when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
