Softball Recap: Handley Tigers vs. Tallassee Tigers
With a playoff win on the line, Handley rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Tallassee 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Handley has posted since April 1st.

Brayden Watkins made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Brynnley Lane and Rayna Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Lane went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double, while Smith went 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most hits Smith has posted since back in April.
Handley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 20-25-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Tallassee, their loss dropped their record down to 17-16.
