Baseball Recap: Kentwood's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

While Kentwood put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Kennedy Catholic. The Conquerors walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Lancers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Conquerors as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Tyler Maurer's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Kentwood is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Kentwood saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Coleman, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Kentwood's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-9. As for Kennedy Catholic, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-6.

Kentwood will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lancers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
