Mammoth entered their tilt with Lone Pine on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Golden Eagles 48-6. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 70th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eli Ericson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 75 yards and three TDs on only ten carries. Ericson is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. DJ Gray was in the mix too, providing Mammoth with two scores.

Mammoth's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Lone Pine, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mammoth will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Chadwick at 3:30 p.m. on October 10. As for Lone Pine, they will venture away from home to challenge Lancaster Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles' defense better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 31 points per game this season.
