Maddyn Greenway leads Providence Academy to victory over Minnehaha Academy

Recap: Providence Academy Lions vs. Minnehaha Academy Red Hawks

On Tuesday, the Providence Academy Lions faced the Minnehaha Academy Red Hawks in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Providence Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 83-81 win over Minnehaha Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

It was another big night for Maddyn Greenway, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was her 12th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Emma Millerbernd, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Providence Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Minnehaha Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-2.

Providence Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Stewartville at 2:15 p.m. on January 6th. Stewartville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while Providence Academy is ranked fourth). As for Minnehaha Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Southwest Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Southwest Christian: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Minnehaha Academy has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.
