Softball Game Preview: Garland Owls vs. South Garland Titans

Garland is a perfect 8-0 against South Garland since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Garland Owls will head out on the road to challenge the South Garland Titans at 6:30 p.m. Garland's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so South Garland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Garland's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when Sachse hitters got past them. Garland fell just short of Sachse by a score of 11-10 on Monday.

Sinijay Maxey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Cecilia Perry, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Garland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, South Garland fell victim to Rowlett and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 21-0 to the Eagles. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Garland's record now sits at 5-2-1. As for South Garland, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Garland took their victory against South Garland in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-0. Will Garland repeat their success, or does South Garland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
