Volleyball Recap: Belfry Pirates vs. Pikeville Panthers
After flying high against Phelps last Tuesday, Belfry came back down to earth. The Belfry Pirates came up short against the Pikeville Panthers on Monday, falling 3-0. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
While Belfry was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-23, 25-18.
Leading Pikeville to victory were Anna Mouton and Maria Perez. Mouton had 11 digs, while Perez had four digs. Mouton is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last seven games she's played.
Belfry's loss dropped their record down to 7-17-1. As for Pikeville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.
