Baseball Game Preview: Kentwood Conquerors vs. Glacier Peak Grizzlies

The Kentwood Conquerors will face off against the Glacier Peak Grizzlies at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Wednesday, Kentwood sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over Stadium.

Cassius Culpepper was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Heidal, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Culpepper wasn't the only one making solid contact: Kentwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stadium only managed nine hits.

Meanwhile, Glacier Peak never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Meadowdale, sneaking past 1-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Glacier Peak's win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Kentwood, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Kentwood beat Glacier Peak 8-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Conquerors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
