Basketball Recap: Madeira Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Madeira proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 24) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the Finneytown Wildcats out 48-46. The MUSTANGS/AMAZONS haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Madeira got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aidan Hopewell out in front who went 5-for-12 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Reed, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 11 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Madeira's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points over those games. As for Finneytown, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Madeira has already played their next matchup, a 59-47 win against Shroder Paideia Academy on the 12th. As for Finneytown, they will challenge Oyler at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Oyler's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
