The Kenton Wildcats will challenge the Defiance Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Kenton and four for Defiance.

Kenton's last matchup with Celina could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Wildcats took a blow against the Bulldogs, falling 70-35. The Wildcats were down 56-29 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the defeat, Kenton saw an underclassman step up: freshman Xavier Gammon threw for 498 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 31 yards and one TD. Those four passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Gammon. Kenton's leading receiver Maddux McFarlin was Gammon's top target yet again, picking up 173 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, Defiance managed to keep up with Shawnee until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Bulldogs came up short against the Indians, falling 34-14. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 314th, while the Indians are ranked 109th).
