Volleyball Recap: Eleva-Strum Takes a Loss

Eleva-Strum had taken Whitehall down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Norse by a score of 3-2. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Norse earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Eleva-Strum sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 14-25, 25-23, 15-25, 15-11.

Defeat or not, Eleva-Strum got some senior leadership from Ruby Bartholomew and Gabby Franck. Bartholomew had 15 digs and four aces, while Franck had 19 digs and two aces.

Whitehall can attribute much of their success to Avvia Herman, who had 13 digs and four aces. That's the most digs Herman has posted over her last eight matches.

Eleva-Strum's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Whitehall, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Eleva-Strum wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Elmwood/Plum City on the 23rd. As for Whitehall, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Necedah on the 21st.
