Basketball Recap: Cutter-Morning Star Takes Down East Poinsett County in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Cutter-Morning Star had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-44 win over the East Poinsett County Warriors on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since December 28, 2024.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Allison Gaines, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 13 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Riley Ashcraft, who posted eight points and eight boards.
