Volleyball Recap: Fair Grove's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against Forsyth on Tuesday, Fair Grove came back down to earth. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Strafford Indians on Thursday. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-13, 21-25, 25-23.

Sofee Garrett paced Fair Grove's offense, picking up 12 kills. Garrett got some help from Brennyn Smith and her 15 assists. McKenna Zanzie controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Leading Strafford to victory were Payten Coulter and Lydia Goodin. Coulter had 21 digs, while Goodin had 15 digs and three assists. Those 21 digs gave Coulter a new career-high.

Fair Grove's loss dropped their record down to 16-11-3. As for Strafford, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-4-2.

Looking ahead, Fair Grove will square off against Diamond at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Strafford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
