After each having a week off, the Ware County Gators and the Flowery Branch Falcons will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on the 14th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Ware County took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over Wayne County. The win continues a trend for the Gators in their matchups with the Yellow Jackets: they've now won five in a row.

Isaiah White and Jamir Boyd were among the main playmakers for Ware County as the former threw for 170 yards and one TD and the latter rushed for 67 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave White a new career-high in rushing yards (25). Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Tayshaun Franklin, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Flowery Branch really took it to Cedar Shoals for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-8 victory. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Jaguars are ranked 280th) , the win on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Flowery Branch's win came from a few key players Ware County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Griffin Harper, who rushed for 115 yards and a pair of scores, and also picked up 30 receiving yards. He has become a key player for Flowery Branch: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise. Brett Strum was another key passer, throwing for 191 yards on only 17 passes.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Flowery Branch proved: they limited Cedar Shoals to a paltry -0.6 yards per carry. While one picked up at least three total tackles, Harper stood above the rest. He rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 30 receiving yards. Flowery Branch's ground attack was stronger, having averaged five.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Flowery Branch, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ryland Garrison, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Flowery Branch's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Ware County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Ware County has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 197.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Flowery Branch struggles in that department as they've been averaging 149 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
