Baseball Game Preview: Simley Spartans vs. South St. Paul Packers

The Simley Spartans will face off against the South St. Paul Packers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Simley's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so South St. Paul's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Simley's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Wednesday's struggle, when Hill-Murray hitters got past them. The Spartans took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers on Wednesday.

South St. Paul came out on top against North on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Packers walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Polars. The Packers haven't had any issues with the Polars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

South St. Paul now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Simley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Simley took their victory against South St. Paul when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Packers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
