Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lackawanna). They blew past the West Seneca East Trojans 85-57 on Wednesday. The score was close at the half, but the Steelers pulled away in the second half with 54 points.
West Seneca East's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Madding, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Craig Leslie, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds.
With the win, Lackawanna broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5. As for West Seneca East, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.
