Softball Recap: Mansfield Legacy Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

It's playoff time, and Mansfield Legacy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the V.R. Eaton Eagles on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Broncos, who have now won four games in a row.

Shayla Gonzalez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hope Gaudio, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlen Caldwell, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Mansfield Legacy's win bumped their record up to 20-11. As for V.R. Eaton, their loss dropped their record down to 22-9-1.

Mansfield Legacy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
