Football Recap: Jefferson Democrats vs. Lakeridge Pacers
Jefferson had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were dealt a 42-2 defeat at the hands of the Lakeridge Pacers. While losing is never fun, the Democrats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon football rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Pacers are ranked fourth).
Leading Lakeridge to victory were Drew Weiler and Ansu Sanoe. Weiler threw for 182 yards and four touchdowns while completing 88.2% of his passes, while Sanoe rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Jefferson is taking a road trip to square off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Barlow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeridge will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.
