Basketball Recap: Brookhaven's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Tylertown came into Friday's game looking for another win against Brookhaven, but Jay Ross wouldn't allow it. The Brookhaven Panthers walked away with a 55-45 victory over the Tylertown Chiefs on Friday thanks in part to Ross, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

Brookhaven moved to 9-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Tylertown, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Brookhaven won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bogue Chitto at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Brookhaven is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season. As for Tylertown, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Amite County at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.
