Wyoming Area came out on top against Old Forge on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Blue Devils an 8-0 shutout. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.

Not much got past Alexa Gasek, who gave up just three hits to keep Old Forge off the board. Gasek has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Marissa Giardina was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Kivak, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Wyoming Area hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win made it two in a row for Wyoming Area and bumps their season record up to 10-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Old Forge, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-10.
