            Basketball Recap: Manhattan Indians vs. Washburn Rural Blues        
        
		
        
        
            Manhattan was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They received a  blow  as they fell  61-47 to the Washburn Rural Blues. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blues this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  74-45  back in February.
 Washburn Rural's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Amare Jones led the charge by  dropping  a double-double with 11 points and 14  rebounds. Those  14  boards gave  Jones a new career-high.  Simon Rowley was another key player,  almost  dropping  a double-double with 12  points and nine  rebounds.
Manhattan's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Washburn Rural, the  win was  the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-4.
 Manhattan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Washburn Rural, they will welcome West  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Washburn Rural knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully West likes a good challenge.
