Volleyball Recap: Portsmouth Wins Going Away Against Chariho

Portsmouth won the last time they faced Chariho and things went their way on Monday too. The Patriots put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

While Portsmouth might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Chariho scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-20, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Chariho still got an impressive performance from Kaitlyn Smallridge, who had ten digs and eight aces. Smallridge is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Portsmouth now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Chariho, the loss snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 4-8 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Portsmouth will face off against rival Classical at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th. Meanwhile, Chariho is set to square off against their familiar foe East Greenwich at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
