Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked La Porte

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Iowa Colony, Santa Fe was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged the La Porte Bulldogs out 55-52. The win was all the more spectacular given the Indians' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 568th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 244th).

Santa Fe's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-12. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 7.75 points across that stretch. As for La Porte, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-10.

Santa Fe will head out to face off against Friendswood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Friendswood will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Santa Fe surely won't give up without a fight. As for La Porte, they will challenge Angleton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
