Baseball Recap: Random Lake Gets the Win

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Random Lake ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past the Howards Grove Tigers 6-4. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Chase Verbanac made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Michaels, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Decker Kleppin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Random Lake's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Howards Grove, they dropped their record down to 4-17 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Random Lake didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-3 defeat against Horicon on the 16th. As for Howards Grove, they have also already played their next matchup, a 13-2 loss against Winnebago Lutheran Academy on the 16th.
