Basketball Recap: Irvington Preparatory Academy Comes Up Short

Irvington Preparatory Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Purdue Polytechnic Techies and fell 72-37. Irvington Preparatory Academy was down 54-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Xavier Page and Kase Johnson certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Page posted 15 points and eight rebounds, while Johnson had six points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds gave Johnson a new career-high.

Purdue Polytechnic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tj Williams led the charge by putting up 16 points. Jordann Allen was another key player, posting 13 points.

Irvington Preparatory Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-3. As for Purdue Polytechnic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
