Baseball Recap: Anacoco Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Anacoco waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Florien Blackcats get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Indians have won eight matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Peyton Wenrich was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Anacoco's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-8 when he doesn't). Luke Thompson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Anacoco now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Florien, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Coming up, Anacoco will welcome Hicks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Florien, they will head out to face off against Converse at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
