Basketball Recap: IDEA Montopolis Piles Up the Points Against Smithville

On Friday, IDEA Montopolis were fully in charge, breezing past the Smithville Tigers 66-35. IDEA Montopolis has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Damarion Fisher was his usual excellent self, putting up 27 points. Those 27 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trey Sneed, who posted 16 points.

IDEA Montopolis has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.5 points. As for Smithville, their loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. IDEA Montopolis will host Harmony School Of Excellence-Austin at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Smithville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Caldwell at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th.
