Baseball Game Preview: Sunrise Mountain Miners vs. Sports Leadership & Management Bulls

For the second straight game, Sunrise Mountain will face off against Sports Leadership & Management. The Miners will take on the Bulls at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Sunrise Mountain has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 24.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Sunrise Mountain's offense. They lost 18-0 to Sports Leadership & Management on Wednesday.

For Sports Leadership & Management's part, Talan Everett was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Everett has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. He has become a key player for Sports Leadership & Management: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-14 otherwise.

In other batting news, Mark McAllister III was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Sports Leadership & Management's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Dylan Tondreau, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Sports Leadership & Management always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .735. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.

Sunrise Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Sports Leadership & Management, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-14.
