Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Almond-Bancroft walked away with it. They blew past the Marion Mustangs 3-0 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won seven in a row.

Almond-Bancroft walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-21, 25-9.

Mya Dernbach paced Almond-Bancroft's offense, picking up eight kills. Dernbach were helped by Lexi Carlton and Sophia Chapa, who contributed six assists each.

Marion lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sophia Wudstrack, who had four digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Almond-Bancroft's win bumped their record up to 14-17. As for Marion, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.

Almond-Bancroft didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran on the 25th. Marion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
